Have you had a problem with metallic and speciality threads breaking? After years of frustration and stress using metallic and specialty thread in her projects, Lee Fletcher decided to do something about it!
She invented the Thread Director! Did you know that thread should unwind off the spool the same way it was wound onto the spool? The Thread Director solves the problem of twisting and breakage while making it easy and fun to work with specialty threads. Like most great inventions, the Thread Director was borne out of necessity, and like most great inventions, you’ll wonmder how you ever managed without it!
The Thread Director changes the position of the spool allowing the thread to unwind flat, eliminating twisting, which causes the thread to break. Now you can easily use metallic and specialty threads, giving your projects some extra sparkle and pop! The Thread Director works on most sewing machines and overlockers, and can be used with almost any thread, and will hold spools of up to 1000m.

Quilt Direct are UK stockists of the Thread Director, and we think they’re going to be very popular.
Quilt Direct is thrilled to be supplying threads to Alice at Bears and Bows.
Bears and Bows is a small business specialising in handmade, high quality, personalised memory bears and keepsakes.
Bears & Bows make bears in two sizes – big memory bear (approx 45cms) and baby memory bears (approx. 35cms). These bears are all lovingly made from treasured items of clothing – a loved ones favourite shirt or tie, a football strip, even hats and scarves. – and they don’t have to be bears! Bunnies are very popular, but if you have something else in mind, maybe a giraffe or a dolphin, just ask.
The big bears can be made up to precise weights, so you can have bear the exact birth weight of your child made out of those first, very special baby clothes!
Visit the Bears & Bows website and have a look at some of the gorgeous bears they’ve made.
