Following the successful launch of Aurifil's Thread Labs 1.0 in 2023, we are delighted to be one of the suppliers for Thread Labs 2.0.
Thread Labs 2.0 builds on the educational foundation set by Thread Labs 1.0.
There are no repeats, and subscribers who participated in Thread Labs 1.0 can expect a unique experience with Thread Labs 2.0.
What is Thread Labs?
The Thread Labs 2.0 programme features six new Aurifil Educators highlighting custom curated ranges of threads for six new projects. Boxes are focused on technique, and on inspiring new and creative use of Aurifil threads.
From July to December 2024, you will be immersed in an engaging educational experience, covering a diverse range of skills from FPP to machine quilting, through the practical use of various Aurifil thread weights.
With the range of threads and techniques featured each month, there is something for everyone - from Aurifil enthusiasts to newcomers and novices.
I didn't do Thread Labs 1.0, can I go straight into Thread Labs 2.0?
Yes, absolutely! Knowledge gained in Threads Labs 1.0 is not required for success with Thread Labs 2.0.
That said, if you’re interested in learning about Aurifil’s history and taking a peek at their production process, in addition to an in-depth education on all their products, Thread Labs 1.0 is available and we’d highly recommend looking into it.
What's in the box?
Each month, you will receive a beautiful Aurifil package with a specially designed project to inspire and educate, each using a featured thread weight.
As well as the threads and other items, each exclusive project has accompanying educational videos by the Featured Educator, plus a video interview with them, hosted by Aurifil Master Educator Karen L. Miller.
For example, in the first month of Thread Labs 2.0 you will receive the Aurifilosophy Cool Thread Exemplar, a compact spool storage case, and a unique thread tracking booklet. Aurifil Designer Nicholas Ball will lead you through a creative project using several thread weights included in the Thread Exemplar, with exclusive video content to ensure a comprehensive learning experience for people at all skill levels.
Subsequent months will introduce new educators, thread assortments, and innovative techniques, fostering an environment where your creativity and skills development will flourish.
The packages are despatched in the middle of each month, from July to December 2024 inclusive. The projects and videos are presented through an online educational portal, and the content in that is available for the month of release until the end of June 2025. Details for how to access the portal are provided in the boxes.

Payment Options:
Pay Monthly
Your Thread Labs subscription boxes will be despatched, one per month. The cost of the subscription is £72 a month for six months. The first payment will be taken upon ordering, and the remaining five months will be taken by Direct Debit each month thereafter.
Pay In Full
Your Thread Labs subscription boxes will be despatched, one per month. The total subscription cost is £432, but we offer a 10% discount for payments made in full. If you select this option, you will pay £388.80 upon ordering; no further payments will be required.
The subscription lasts for six months, and cancellations are not permitted.
